About Sougna

A classifieds marketplace for the Gulf: Arabic first, with the city districts people actually search by, and car specs you can genuinely filter on.

Why we started

Person-to-person trade across the Gulf currently happens in places that were never designed for it: chat groups, free-text ads that cannot be filtered, and regional marketplaces that do not know the districts of Riyadh or that “لاندكروزر” and “لاند كروزر” are the same car.

The result is that finding something specific is tiring, and trust has to be rebuilt from nothing on every deal.

What we do differently

  • Closed lists instead of free text: make, model, trim and district are picked from a list, which is what makes filtering reliable.
  • Real neighbourhoods: 123 districts across eight cities, because nobody searches for “a villa in Riyadh” — they search Al Narjis or Hittin.
  • Arabic and English as equals, with an interface that flips direction properly rather than a surface translation.
  • A price guide for every make and district, computed from live listings rather than stored figures.
  • Review before publication and duplicate-photo detection, so there are fewer fake ads.

How we make money

Posting is free in every section for now. When paid services arrive — plans for showrooms and agencies, or optional promotions — we will say so clearly before they apply. We say this plainly, because a platform with no visible source of income usually earns it from its users' data. We do not sell yours.
