Terms of use

Sougna is a classifieds platform that puts buyers and sellers in touch. We are not a party to any transaction. We do not own, inspect or guarantee what is advertised, and we do not collect payment for it or deliver it.

Price, inspection, payment and handover are agreed directly between you and the other party, at your own risk.

• You must be 18 or older to open an account.
• Your details must be accurate, and any contact details you add — email or mobile number — must be yours and in service; they are how buyers reach you.
• You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if it is used without your permission.
• Do not open multiple accounts to get around posting limits or to repost an ad that was removed.

An ad must describe something real that is genuinely available, at a genuine price, with photographs of the actual item.

The following are not allowed:

• Posting in a section the item does not belong to, or posting the same ad more than once.
• Using photos that are not of the item, or photos taken from someone else's ad.
• Advertising a token price to attract calls and then quoting a different one.
• Putting contact numbers or links inside images or ad text to move the deal off-platform before any agreement.
• Offering anything prohibited by the law of the country the ad is posted in, including: alcohol, pork, weapons and ammunition, medicines and medical preparations, tobacco and vaping products, ivory and endangered species, counterfeit goods and trademarks, surveillance devices, and material contrary to public decency.
• Offering cryptocurrency, investment opportunities or money-transfer services.
• Advertising a job that charges the applicant a fee, or asking for payment in exchange for employment.

Property ads and brokerage ads are subject to the rules of the Real Estate General Authority, including the requirement for a valid advertising licence number where you advertise as a broker. You are responsible for the licence number you enter.

Ads are screened automatically before they appear, and reviewed by a person when something looks wrong or a report is received. We may refuse, remove or suspend an ad or an account that breaks these terms or the law, without prior notice where necessary.

If an ad was removed in error, it is reinstated and its run is extended by the time it was down.

Posting is currently free in every section, and there are no paid plans or promotions. If paid services are introduced they will be optional, these terms will be updated, and prices — including value added tax — will be shown before anything is charged.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive licence to display, store, copy, resize and watermark it in order to operate and promote the service. That licence continues after an ad is removed only so far as backups and records require.

You confirm that you have the right to post what you upload, and that its photographs are yours or that you have permission to use them.

The platform is provided as it is. We do not warrant the accuracy of what users post, the condition of what is advertised, the good faith of the other party, or uninterrupted service.

We are not liable for losses arising from a transaction between users. Where we are found liable, that liability is limited to what you paid us in the preceding twelve months.

Nothing here limits a right that cannot be waived under applicable law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any rights you cannot waive under the law of your own country.

We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated, and continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept it.
