How to buy and sell safely on Sougna

Warning signs

  • Priced far below the market
  • Insists on advance payment or bank transfer
  • Refuses viewing or a phone call
  • Wants to move off-platform immediately
  • New account listing high-value items
  • Photos taken from other listings

For buyers

Inspect before you pay

Meet in a public place in daylight and check the item yourself. Never transfer money before seeing it.

Never send a deposit

A request for a deposit or advance payment before you have seen the item is the most common scam there is.

Stay on-platform

Chats on Sougna are retained and automatically screened. Once a conversation moves to another app, we cannot help you.

Check the paperwork

For cars: registration and inspection. For property: the advertising licence number is shown on every property ad.

For sellers

Never share your code

Sougna will never ask for your verification code. Anyone who does is trying to take your account.

Confirm the funds cleared

Check the money is actually in your account before handing anything over — not a screenshot of a transfer.

Shoot your own photos

Real photos sell faster, and photos lifted from another listing are flagged automatically.

How we protect you

Verified phone numbers

Anyone who posts an ad or starts a chat has an account we can hold to account — and sellers can add ID verification for a badge.

Every ad is screened

Automated checks run on every ad before publishing, and anything suspicious goes to a human reviewer.

Your number stays private

It never appears on the listing page. It is revealed on one tap, and every reveal is rate-limited and logged.

Chat monitoring

We detect scam patterns in messages and flag them, without deleting anyone's conversation.

Seen something suspicious?

Use "Report this ad" on any listing page. Reports go straight to the review team.
